The Armstrong firm was well-regarded for producing precision timepieces and complex chiming clocks during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This example combines elegant case design with a sophisticated tubular chiming mechanism, making it a true statement piece in both form and function. Clocks of this calibre were often commissioned for grand homes or public halls, designed to impress both visually and acoustically.
