Antique Marble Clock French Ormolu Lyre Garniture with Swinging Pendulum, Circa 1900

A beautiful lyre-shaped case with beaded gilt bronze borders and gilded trailing leaf in open frame, surmounted by a gilt bronze garland and suspended flowers. Standing on a red marble, stepped elliptical pedestal with ormolu decoration and bun feet.

White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, garland decoration and pierced gilt lyre hands.

An 8-Day movement with anchor escapement striking the hour and half hour on a bell. The five rod grid-iron pendulum with knife edge suspension hung from the top and connected to a ring set with brilliant cut white/colourless paste gems surrounding the dial with a counter balance behind in front of the bell. The whole pendulum swinging from side to side. A beautiful mantel clock with matching set of gilt bronze and marble candlestick holders.
